Two simple questions:

• What are the risks of being covered by several Insurance carrier?

• What compensations are guaranteed by these Insurances?

First of all, Bianchi Group implements security procedures and adopts ways to preserve the shipments conditions.

Often those who entrust their goods to the shipper think that the carrier is responsible for the entire damage (value of the items, transport, loss of earnings, etc.)

However, the carrier acts with a limited liability, according to the following international and national conventions: 

• National Transport by truck (D.L. 286/2005) EUR 1 per gross kg. of loss/damaged stuff 

• International Transport by truck (CMR) 8,33 SDR per gross kg.

• International Transport by sea (Bruxelles convention) 2 DSP per gross kg. or 666,7 SDR/Package

• Trasporto Aereo Internazionale (Montreal convention) 22 DSP per gross kg.

(SDR is Special Drawing Rights. It is a unit of measurement established by the International Monetary Fund).

For all these reasons Bianchi Group, in addition to basic insurance coverage, offers an “ALL RISKS” insurance policy too – which compensates up to the full value of the goods. It is essential to determine the correct insurable value (including packing costs, chartering costs, etc.).  In the event  of a claim, the entire value is considered if the damage / loss is complete; if the damage is partial, the value is considered in line with the loss.

If a higher price has been paid, the difference will not be returned from the insurance company.
